30-SECOND ORIENTATION / AN ILLUSTRATION AT ANOTHER SCALE
Connect the selected shape to normal anatomy.
The image and editable labels explain anatomical relationships. They do not reveal new structures in the model you selected.
Retained AI-assisted anatomical cutaway, not a scan or the selected surface mesh. Patient right is image left. The preparation explains chambers and their broad relationships; fine valve anatomy and proportions are not independently certified.Structure notes · further context
Right atrium
Receives body blood before it enters the right ventricle.
Left atrium
Receives blood returning from the lungs.
Right ventricle
Generates flow into the pulmonary circulation.
Left ventricle
Generates flow into systemic circulation.
Ventricular septum
Muscle separates the two ventricular blood spaces.
Left ventricular wall
A thicker muscular wall develops the pressure needed for the body circuit.
3-MINUTE UNDERSTANDING / ONE CANONICAL LEARNING PATH
Continue from what you can see to how it works.
Each route opens the corresponding existing lesson. The same deeper chapter remains the source of its full medical explanation.
DEEPER LEARNING / ORIGINAL MODEL-LINKED EXPLANATIONS
Read the structure and function together.
Follow the two circuits
The right atrium receives systemic venous return; the right ventricle sends blood toward the lungs. Pulmonary veins return blood to the left atrium, and the left ventricle supplies the systemic arteries. The circuits connect in series rather than operating as separate supplies.
Pressure moves blood through valves
Chamber contraction and relaxation alter pressure. Valves open and close as pressure differences reverse, limiting backflow. A valve is not a motor that actively pulls blood forward; effective pumping also requires filling between contractions.
A whole organ, not a cutaway
This representation combines the source meshes of the heart. It shows external context but cannot identify every chamber wall, valve leaflet or conduction cell. Use the connected chapter to relate internal structure, electrical activation and coronary supply.
Original AllHumanBody teaching explanations and retained chapter illustrations. The selected source-labelled model, authentic medical photographs and AI-assisted teaching illustrations are different resource types. This plate is an illustration, not a scan, microscopy or certification of hidden structures in the selected model. Existing chapter source and image-provenance records are retained.
The original source-linked notes above are preserved. Detailed mechanisms and their supporting references remain in the linked canonical chapter. Medical source checks do not constitute human medical review or personal diagnostic advice; fine generated anatomy and physical-phone acceptance are not independently certified.
